Girls Golf Team
Hollister High School
The girls golf team is open to all players grades 9 through 12. The first practices start about 1 weeks before the first day of school and the actual date depends on when school starts for any particular year. Please contact head coach Molly Orsetti at the email below for questions on tryouts and dates. A player / parent communication meeting is held in late August.
The golf season is typically between late august and late october but can be different depending on the start date of school for any particular year.
The varsity is part of the Pacific Coast Athletic League (PCAL) and competes in the Gabilan division that is comprised of high school teams from Carmel, Monte Vista, Pacific Grove, Santa Catalina and Stevenson. The season culminates at the PCAL Girls Golf Championships in late October with the opportunity to move on to the Central Coast Section championship competition depending on performance at the PCAL championship.
Hollister's golf team is comprised of a varsity competitive team and a junior varsity team that focuses on the development of younger players for competition.
Practices are typically four days a week after school until approximately 6 p.m. but can go later depending on what is planned for practice on a particular day. Practices are held at Ridgemark Golf Club and Resort. Varsity typically have matches at least once a week. There are times during the season where players may travel to another golf course to play / practice on selected weekend days.
Players should provide their own golf equipment and accessories. There is very limited availability for loaner equipment but that depends on the inventory of equipment that changes every year.
